Imagine that you wake up tomorrow and everything is new. You’re experiencing everything for the very first time.
The way the sunlight enters the room. The sound of the birds. The feel of the cotton sheets on your skin. All of these experiences are rich and unexplored; new and exciting.
You have no expectations of the day ahead because you haven’t experienced it yet!
In reality, this happens to us every single day.
No one day, hour, or minute of our lives is the same as the next. It’s always different.
But how many of us really take the time to see life like this?
Instead, we approach life with expectations – which often lead to disappointment, frustration or simply boredom from the day’s mundanities.
And life speeds by before we realise we’re missing out!
However, if you leave your expectations at the door and approach each day, moment, minute as the new experiences they are…then you will start to appreciate the little things, the big things and all the things in between.
You’ll notice them for the very first time.
Because they are all new.
Because every second is unique.
Here’s to no expectations.
